Bridge Club at Macleans College is one of the quieter activities where students can play and Bridge. Bridge is a strategic card game played by people all around the world. It’s a Club for anyone regardless of their skill level welcoming beginners with open arms.
Bridge is what we call a ‘trick-taking’ card game which requires teamwork, memory, and many more making it very different from most casual card games like poker. Don’t worry if you don’t know anything about Bridge. The teachers explain everything very clearly. We’ll start with learning ‘mini-bridge’ then up to ‘bidding’ and then gradually making our way up to the full game ensuring you won’t miss anything.
Members practice on either Thursday after school or Sunday in the morning in Mansfield. You can bring a friend to be your partner or come on your own – you will definitely find a partner quickly. Because it’s open to all skill levels no matter how good you are, you will be in a relaxed and comfortable setting. If you want to get competitive, Bridge Club offers many tournaments.
Whether or not you want to be competitive or just play in a relaxed space, Bridge Club offers a chance to try something new while sharpening skills far beyond the game. If you love strategy and thinking games, this is the club for you. Just show up at a meeting or contact Mr Pan or Mr Bowden.
