HYC Leadership team (2025)
HYC operates under the vision of “opportunity, represent and empower”:
Opportunity means to provide different chances for youth to participate in fun, educational, or insightful events and to make a change. Represent means to portray and carry out the voice of all youth throughout the East Auckland area thanks to the biannual Youth Survey. Empower focuses on building up youth and fostering a sense of whānau, ensuring every young person feels they have a supportive community behind them as they pursue their goals.
Events like Youth Summit, which is HYC’s flagship event aims to provide leadership development for secondary school students through a full day workshop style event. That provides leadership opportunity, experience and cross school connections. Alongside Youth Week which includes the iconic hot-chocolates-before school and other activities designed to help empower students and to create fun memories such as jump jam, mural making and multisport.
