With the iconic Krutherford of the South side, the Atomic Kiwi Carnival started the carnival calendar with a bang, delivering another unforgettable day of food, fun, and festivities.
Held on the 13th of May, the carnival kicked off the event calendar in spectacular style. It was the perfect day to be at the castle — no rain in sight, excited faces, and energy rivaling that of athletics finals.

From the moment students and teachers stepped onto the scene, they were met with the mouth watering aroma of donuts, waffles, pizza, McDonald’s, and of course, the iconic Mr. Whippy truck. Just outside Kupe stood the Meet Fresh stall, which served an interesting product: boba by the bowl.

One of the carnival’s most anticipated attractions was the prefect and staff dunk, offering students the rare chance to soak their beloved Kupe prefects and teachers — all for just $5. Excitement buzzed through the air, as students lined up to watch or to participate for this once-a-year special chance.

Inside the Kupe commons, the atmosphere was carefree. A packed crowd of students and staff who sang along and danced to the songs of Glenfern who performed timeless hits like Lovefool, Careless Whisper, and Can’t take my eyes off you, had the entire room buzzing with energy.
From start to finish, the carnival was a roaring success. With incredible eats, exciting experiences, and non-stop entertainment, the Atomic Kiwi Carnival once again proved its potential.
Until next time, Atomic Kiwi — you never disappoint.
