The Macleans College 1st XV Rugby Team has recently announced a strong lineup for the 2025 season following a series of trial games, which resulted in a 36-5 win against the Pukekohe 1st XV.
Jacob Ely will return to the 1st XV as a captain for the second consecutive year, leading a talented squad of players, several of whom are experienced veterans who had narrowly lost the 1B finals. This is complemented by a dynamic mix of promising fresh players, ensuring the team will be a strong contender for this year’s 1B Competition.
The team’s first match will take place this Saturday, April 12, at 12:00PM on the Macleans Artificial Turf. They will be hosting the visiting team, Farrer Agricultural School from New South Wales, Australia, who will be playing Macleans for the 2nd time in 3 years and are expected to put up an exciting match against our team.
